San Floriano del Collio – a land of grapes and sweet cherries, is situated at the top of a natural hill that overlooks the entire Collio, the Julian Alps, the Carst and the Friulian plane. Founded in the Medieval period, the town was surrounded by walls and later two castles were built. One of them, the San Floriano castle, was destroyed during the First World War but later transformed into a residential complex. The presence and number of qualified and renowned wineries all over the world make this place an ideal destination for the afficionados. Likof, an enogastronomic event, takes place in town square and celebrates the richness of the area at the beginning of summer.
